2024 Presentation with Dr. Stanley Curtis
This presentation was based on a research project I completed for my Spring Freshman jury exam piece, where I researched the composer, did score study, and learned about deliberate practice techniques. The presentation expanded on how those multidisciplinary elements can be beneficial for secondary music students. In preparation, I interviewed Tim Libby, Jack Yonce, and Butch Eversole to take a deep dive into how they structure solo and ensemble opportunities for their students, and how multidisciplinary components could be integrated. Dr. Curtis and I gave this presentation on January 26, 2024.
